Career Summary

Jay has been active since 2001 representing buyers, sellers, tenants and landlords in Northern California. Jay’s core focus is on sales and leasing of industrial and commercial properties. Additionally, Jay has completed and continues to work on a significant amount of land transactions, and has experience selling distressed assets for individuals and financial institutions. Jay is a licensed broker in the State of California holds the designation of Certified Commercial Investment Member (“CCIM”). The CCIM Designation in conjunction with holding a broker’s license not only adds value to Jay’s clients, but it sets him apart from most other brokers.

Jay joined Kidder Mathews as a vice president in February 2016. Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, Jay was an associate vice president at Cushman & Wakefield from 2008 - 2016. Prior to Cushman & Wakefield, he spent seven years as a team member of a boutique commercial real estate firm in Sacramento (The Vollman Company). Jay’s experience in selling and leasing commercial properties has led him to represent and complete transactions with clients including PepsiCo, Citibank, GE Hydro Power, FCI Constructors, City of Sacramento, Berg Electric, Eyefinity (VSP), Rexel, Inc., and PODS as part of his resume of clients. In addition to servicing institutional type clients, Jay works closely with local and regional clients in the acquisition and disposition of commercial, industrial and land properties to assist his clients in meeting their real estate goals.

Jay has leased, sold, and serviced commercial properties throughout California spanning from San Diego to Redding and up the Oregon border. Growing up in Shasta and Siskiyou Counties, in addition to 20+ years in the Sacramento region, has given Richter great perspective and understanding of Northern California commercial real estate. Richter began his career in 2001 interning as an office broker with Starboard TCN, a large independent commercial real estate brokerage in downtown San Francisco. Richter now resides in the Sacramento region with his family and continues his focus on the greater Sacramento and Northern California industrial/commercial and land real estate markets.
